Someone uploaded a bunch of live clips from the Fuyachou live DVD in youtube. Thought it might be of interest to some of you since that DVD was kind of hard to get.

| Misa to write and arrange songs for Kaya's next single "Salome" |
[ April 19th, 2012 19:42 ] |
Misa will be working on "Salome", the next single of Kaya (ex-Schwarz Stein, to whom Misa already wrote a song before called "Madame Rosa"). This time, another well respected musician from the 90s indies visual kei will be collaborating: Iori from cocklobin (who I know from his old bands Lamiel and Blast, haven't heard cocklobin). It's not specified if both of them are writing songs together, or if they will do separate tracks (it's not clear how many songs will the disc contain, as Kaya's site says "Contains 3 songs (4 songs total)"...? maybe 3 full songs and 1 "kayaless" version?) The single is set to be released on June 20.
On an unrelated question: does anyone have the track "Cage" by Annie's Black? Still haven't heard that and the CD seems to be out of print everywhere.

| Toki's new band... |
[ February 9th, 2012 0:47 ] |
So maybe many of you already know this. Toki (guitarist of BABYLON of the 2005 era and famous for his skilled, virtuoso guitar work) has joined the new band of bassist Rame (ex-Vidoll), Black Gene For the Next Scene.
They just released their first single, "DOOM". PV: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FpahF9A-Gwg
To be honest I wasn't impressed at all. Where are Toki's intricate solos and riffs? Gone, all I can hear are annoying synths and autotune. Oh well. I hope in the future Toki gets more space in the band and they allow him to show us more of his potential.
At least he's back on a band that actually releases stuff.
On a different note, this is not related to BABYLON directly, but is related to Misa, so I guess I'll notice about it here. I was able to talk to Pietoro (ex vocalist of Misa's old band, Da'vid/shito:aL), and he agreed to make an interview exclusive for his overseas fans. You can read the interview on my site's Da'vid section. http://misashito.occult-proposal.net/pietorointerview.html

| Misa's song for Annie's Black |
[ May 11th, 2011 19:38 ] |
So, with Misa reappearing with his ameblog and all, I've started to track down all the possible news about him as of late. Lastest one we got was that he composed a song for Kaya released on december. Turns out he also composed a song for Annie's Black (the solo project of Sarino, ex-Aioria's vocalist). it's called "Godless" and you can listen to it here: http://nicosound.anyap.info/sound/nm13495615
It's from Annie's Black's album "-departure-". I think I mentioned it here before, but Sarino did a new version of Aioria's classic song "Hana Kotoba" released on the Loop of Life X omnibus, and when that VA album "Neo voltage" was released, with the new recording of Aioria's "Kousai" done by a revived Aioria, Sarino toured, under the name of "Annie's Black feat. Aioria" (as far as I know the only Aioria member was Sarino in there, but he did songs from both his solo project and Aioria, it seems).
Ok, well, Annie's Black is actually an interesting project for people who enjoy classic vkie, Sarino managed to reunite good members for his backup band, those include: Shun (ex.JILS, C4) on guitar Mori (ex.Wyse) on guitar Jun (ex.Waive) on bass and Takafumi on drums (I don't know any of the bands he's been in,but I'm sure they were related to the Kreis crowd from back in the 90s)
Also, ex-Aioria Misa and Michiru contributed to the album writing songs. I'm listening to the album right now and it's a pretty solid mix of songs, there's elements of C4 in it (thanks to Shun), the Michiru song is rather funny, and totally reminds me of his Michiru Porject stuff, and Misa's song may not be the best song he ever did (also, he didn't perform it, and probably didn't arrange it either, he just composed it), but it has some interesting and very Misa-ish elements.

| Misa's alive! |
[ May 8th, 2011 11:34 ] |
Misa is alive!
http://ameblo.jp/babylon33/
there you have it, he finally made an ameba blog for himself. interestingly the account is called babylon33. why babylon misa? babylon is dead. maybe he had that account since back then and just never used it. 33 is misa's favorite number (apparently, all the hidden tracks on his bands CDs are track no.33)
there he is, yeah.

| Misa to compose song for Kaya |
[ November 13th, 2010 12:05 ] |
Maybe it is old news already, however...
Kaya (former Schwarz Stein member) announced at one of his concerts a couple of days ago that Misa would be the composer of his upcoming single マダムローザの娼館 (madame rosa no shoukan). The CD is due December 22 and will be sold at concerts and VK shops only.

| Good One performs with his old band otoiro! |
[ June 4th, 2010 8:26 ] |
Good One just deleted all his blog entries (I wonder if he's gonna pull a "GOOD ONE's SACRED MEMORIAL SCROLLS vol.1" and sell his blog entries in book form, ala Kisaki), there's only live information, about his support performance with The Fuzz as I mentioned the other day, and now he added another date, where he will perform with his old band otoiro! the post-babylon treatment seems to be very traumatic, bands doing revivals, even re-recording (Aioria) but noone is really in any band!
Anyway, the gig will be at an event on the livehouse Narciss, on July 8.
otoiro
メンバー Vo.Naoki(yazzmad) Gt.トシ(トーマス) Ba.Oisuke(ex.AibeLL) Dr&Cho.RIyoU(ex.BABYLON)
all the original members are there, that should be a fun gig to attend to, otoiro was a good band

| a few ex-members news. |
[ June 2nd, 2010 7:11 ] |
So, the "NEO VOLTAGE" omnibus CD came out last week, with the new (re-recording, actually) Aioria song. For the most part is almost identical to the old album version except sarino's voice sounds more confident, the guitars sound almost the same (which isn't bad, they were already great before), the bass does sound different (since this was the first time Kazutake actually recorded with the band on studio) and the synths have some little new arrangements here and there. The mixing and mastering are really well executed. Remember Misa changed his name for the Aioria live? (and his Legendary Six Nine participation aswell) to Takayama? well, he's back to just Misa on this CD.
In other news, Haku went RASTAFARI! well... I don't know, maybe. Check out the new layout on his blog: http://ameblo.jp/baby-haku/ He's been talking about rehearsals and band members a lot. Certainly I'd be interested on seeing a reggae band with Haku on bass. I also noticed he no longer uses as many smilies as he used before on his blog entries.
Finally, both Sae and Ryouichi will be doing support guitar and drumming for The Fuzz (ex-JILS, C4's Shun solo project) on July 19th at a loop ash anniversary event. And this is kinda unrelated, but maybe some of you remember pleur? the band that formed after Da'vid/shito:aL, the bassist Kuruto (who is now in Number Mouse) will be also doing support bass for The Fuzz, but at a different event. Sadly, I listened to some of The Fuzz, but I really don't like it (I love Shunsuke's songwriting on Jils and C4, but his solo stuff is just... bland, tasteless).
Sae will be also performing on a session band on july 14 at o-west, with 3 vocalists (Kaya, Hitomi (Moran) and Z (Art Cube) and some ex-Sugar guys, aswell as Tokita Nozomi on keyboards (from the band Sepia).

| Aioria news |
[ April 29th, 2010 8:37 ] |
Here's some interesting news regarding Misa and his former band Aioria. They're going to participate on a new V.A. CD called "NEO VOLTAGE". The weird thing is that Aioria is the only band that's not "active", all the others are newish bands.. so it's not a V.A. CD of disbanded bands, but rather a "new decade visual kei band" omnibus... but why is Aioria there?
Here's a link to blowgrow's site, the label releasing the CD:
http://www.blowgrow.co.jp/neovoltage/index.html
as you can see, there's a brand-new picture of the band (Misa, Michiru, Kazutake and Sarino) the song by Aioria is 光彩の沈殿 (Kousai no chinden), which isn't new, it's the first song on their first demotape released back in 2001. In 2002 they re-recorded it for their album, and shortened the title to just 光彩 (Kousai). Now it seems they went back to the original title, and at first, I was rather sceptic about it being a new recording, I thought they'd just use the album version, maybe a remastering of the demo version at much... but now reading Kazutake's blog... http://blog.livedoor.jp/badlot1024/
at the bottom of the lastest entry he mentions that he was able to record the bass in one shot (I think that's what he's saying, he's definitely mentioning recording anyway)... so I think there's big chances of it being a new recording!
The CD is already up for pre-order at CDJ: http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=XNBG-10001
Almost forgot, there's going to be a tour following the release of the CD. as you can see in this sales ticket site: http://ticketgip.com/p/con_sai.php?evno=3258
"Annie's Black feat. Aioria" is going to be performing. Annie's Black is just the name of Sarino's solo project, if you check out his myspace, he has uploaded 2 songs from Aioria's album aswell. So whatever that means... I'd like to think it's going to be Aioria performing and not just Sarino karaoke'ing Aioria songs. Right now Sarino is not in any official band, he's just working on his solo project and on the session band ninjamanjapan. Michiru and Kazutake, however, are active on the band Seven... so that would make it difficult for Aioria to to a proper revival... but who knows. Misa's activities are hard to follow, but as we know he's now playing support for The Legendary Six Nine (probably not for much longer) and still producing Toon Factory.

| Misa vs LegendarySixNine |
[ March 21st, 2010 0:00 ] |
Totally forgot to post about this here... Misa's playing the guitar for RUKA's (of Naitomea) sideproject "LEGENDARYSIXNINE" alongside Hakuei and Twiggy in their first PV "Cruel".
Watch it here.
At least I think it's him. If he isn't, he's got a twin brother... I'm sorry if this is old news, but I didn't see this posted here.. and I was like jhdfsafwtf!it'smisa when I first watched the PV so I thought I'd share.

[ March 7th, 2010 18:10 ] |
Last friday was the Aioria 1-day revival live at the Loop Ash event. Here's a picture with Sarino (Aioria's vocalist) and Misa, with a stylish suit, all blushed up and all TAKAYAMA'd up. http://ameblo.jp/sa-ri-no/image-10475756900-10441362210.html
On the other side of Babylon-related news, seems like ELEFUN LEE, the session live band of Takuma, Sae and G1 will be performing again, this time in some live event with the band VII-Sense, where ex-babylon drummer Mikage is playing now. I guess that's what they meant when Takuma said they were going to perform along with him. Sae also performed in some live event, in a session band with people from Vidoll and ex-Sugar.

| Takuma's new accoustic unit "Wuu fu chun" |
[ February 5th, 2010 13:18 ] |
So, Takuma has announced he'll be part of a new unit band called Wuu fu chun, they will perform in feb. 21 at the Nagano Jam livehouse, in Takuma's hometown. The big surprise is that the other part of the unit is Toshiki, former guitarist of LUV'ra-Doll, Takuma's old band. They will perform the following songs:
空に消えた砂時計/Sora ni kieta sunadokei(from BABYLON)
壊(from RusH)
Loveless Butterfly(from Luv'ra-Doll)
君がいた五線譜(Moran)
ソメイヨシノ(from ENDLICHERI☆ENDLICHERI)
Last song(from GACKT)
It also seems Toshiki has a new band now, called the Roy, but I couldn't find any site or anything. Still, good to know he's still around... I never heard of him again after LUV'ra-Doll, and he composed my favorite song by them (Exist a Reason).
Here's Takuma's blog: http://ameblo.jp/04160606/
In one of the recent entries he also says he's been in conact with Youki.

| Aioria official website |
[ January 26th, 2010 21:04 ] |
As I posted before, Misa will be performing in March 5 with his former band Aioria at a Loop Ash event celebrating the label's 10 years and Michiru's birthday. 1-day revival thing.
Surprisingly, here's a new official website for Aioria! http://www.loopash.com/aioria.html
It's just a flash intro for now, hopefully they'll add more content later... maybe pictures and videos after the live if they're kind enough. Something that caught my attention was that there's no "Misa" listed, but Takayama instead, his real last name. So the line-up will consist of the same members of the last formation sans Hiroki, and according to Michiru and Sarino's blogs, the support drummer will be Dr.S (from Mix Speaker's Inc)
On a different note, it seems Mikage will be having a live performance with Takuma and Sae! but I don't have the information handy and can't find anything at Mikage's site, so maybe certain banana-fangirl will post about it later ;B

| sugimoto live DVD |
[ December 29th, 2009 2:42 ] |
For those who may care, Yoshinori Sugimoto will release his first live DVD, here's a little preview video: http://www.ys1126.com/2009/12/post_1260.php
As you may or may not know, Misa is playing guitar for him so although the video will be mostly focused on Sugimoto (as it's his solo project), Misa will be around jumping and running through the stage, might be worth seeing... also Sugimoto does some pretty cool songs, his lastest album was really good.
The bad thing is that the DVD is mail-order only... like the babylon DVD "fuyachou" released last year, if anyone's interested, here's the page with the instructions on how to order, etc (in japanese): http://www.ys1126.com/biography.html deadline is jan 29th. and the DVDs will be shipped at the end of february.

| Aioria 1-day revival |
[ December 9th, 2009 3:10 ] |
Remember last year, when on the Kazutake (ex-MASK) birthday party event Aioria did a little revival and performed 3 songs? They're doing it again next year on March 5th at Club Citta, for Loop Ash's 10th anniversary and Michiru's birthday.
Hopefully it will be longer than just 3 songs, and not likely, but it'd be awesome if they get to shot it and release it on video somehow. At least a little digest video.
It will probably be the same as last year: Misa, Michiru, Sarino and Kazutake... probably some other guy on drums as support as I don't think Hiroki will be attending.
I'd love to go but there's only a 1% chance I'll be able to go.. if anyone here goes, please write some live reports or something :)
here's visunavi with more detailed info: http://www.visunavi.com/news/preview.php?id=1259660049&year=2009&month=12

| babiron wa keshiteshinazu |
[ November 22nd, 2009 23:43 ] |
so there's not really any news, but recently I've been listening to some Babylon again in a long time, feels nostalgic :(
case_jigoku , who commented on the post I made about babylon's last live, went to said concert and said he'd be posting the scans of a pamphlet they handed with pictures of the band... let's wait for that :D and thanks Case!
About the ex-members, Misa is still playing guitar for Yoshinori Sugimoto as always, you can see him on Sugimoto's lastest DVD (which came as an extra with his new album, "Alternative"), only some live digest and background footage though. He also uploaded 3 videos from his recent tour on his youtube channel, where you can see Misa playing (although most of it is MC, so it's a bit boring): www.youtube.com/user/FePipeCHANNEL
Don't really know much else about him, seems TEMPLE is still running, as the new Toon-f CD was released under a catalogue number as TMP-02X (cant remember the number). :/
I think ELEFUN LEE didn't become a real band after all... all the members seem to be kind of doing other things. Takuma just made a post today on his blog since september. And I don't think he's doing any musical activity. Same for Haku. Good one always updates his blog with little random entries... he played support drums for the bullet (band produced by Yukiya from kranze, ex-kreis), but I think it was a 1 time only thing. Sae, I think he's a permanent support guitarist for the band uBuGoe.
In one of Takuma's blog entries he talked about his favorite Babylon songs, which seem to be:
空に消えた砂時計 (Sora ni kieta sunadokei) Cherry lover 不夜蝶 (Fuyachou)
he says, despite he's the composer and lyricist of all 3 songs, those really are his favorites.
... hmmm, eh. Not really the best in my opinion (Cherry lover, ugh!), but it's Taku we're talking about. I don't believe the fact they're his songs isn't the reason why they're his favorites, hah. Sora... is a good song though, and I was right about these 2 being Takuma songs as I said in my Soukouya review :P Fuyachou is another "OK" song, I wouldn't place it in my favorite list either, at all.
I think that's all... see ya, sometime.

[ July 6th, 2009 6:46 ] |
After reading that Misa still works with Toon-F and possibly The Kiddie, I kind of lost hope about him coming back to action... thought he'd just stay in the back, producing these shitty teen bands forever. But I guess not all hope is lost... I just checked on Yoshinori Sugimoto's blog and it felt so nostalgic to see a picture of his full band again, including Misa! check it here: http://www.ys1126.com/2009/07/post_1123.php
So yeah, Misa is performing again with him. Now checking Yoshinori's blog I also saw he made a post for Misa in his birthday (which was in June 10th, his 33rd), Yoshinori also made a post about BABYLON's last live, he was invited to assist by G1.
So, um... let's hope Misa starts some activity on his own soon!

| post-babylon |
[ July 2nd, 2009 15:26 ] |
I guess I'll keep posting some stuff here even if BABYLON already ended. At least for a while.
Sae's got a new blog: http://ameblo.jp/sae32/
it's called 「マカロニウエスタン」 ("Macaroni Western".. I approve of the name, haha). And as you can see there, ELEFUN LEE will perform again, with the same line-up as before, at some event in AREA. (I'm positive they will become a full-time band soon). On that same event there will be a Takuma & Kikasa (ex-【FIGURe;】 ) session band... and I do wonder if Kikasa is still in contact with Misa, they are good friends.
About Haku, he will be playing support bass for Moran on the following dates: 7月5日大阪ESAKA MUSE 7月6日名古屋ell.FITS All 7月12日原宿アストロホール So

| last live set-list |
[ June 30th, 2009 3:52 ] |
Sae posted BABYLON's final set-list on his blog: http://ameblo.jp/baby-sae/
1.激情に濡れた夢の名 (Gekijou ni nureta yume no na) 2.華の都、我、散りけり (Hana no miyako, ware, chirikeri) 3.Secret refuge -MC- 4.ドルフィンベル (Dolphin bell) 5.Rhapsody 6.Teddy -MC- 7.sola 8.艶 (Tsuya) 9.喪愛の冬 (Souai no fuyu) -MC- 10.virgin way 11.蒼空と硝年 (Aozora to shounen) 12.Funny play -MC- 13.Lilly 14.螺旋世界 (Rasen Sekai) 15.[S.F.R]mind fucker 16.No no sick 神風 17.Ray
en1 1.空に消えた砂時計 (Sora ni kieta sunadokei) 2.トーキョーデカダンス (Tokyo Decadence) 3.不夜蝶 (Fuyachou)
en2 1.フィーメイル (Female) 2.臥龍 (Garou) x2 3.Gush 4.Unknown
en3 1.Celeb
---
And apparently they played Knot theory as the end SE (probably the instrumental version from the Ms. Crescent Valentine CD)
Since this was supposed to be fan-voted, I was expecting more rare songs, but that looks like the average babylon set-list (with a few exceptions but not too big), also isn't it weird they didn't play In a coop or Leopardess Marry?
So that's it. Farewell Babylon!

| BABYLON has ended. |
[ June 28th, 2009 16:43 ] |
Some hours ago BABYLON finally performed their last live, as I mentioned before no special guests and no final DVD release nor memorial book, just the 4 guys. Haku already posted a final thank you message on his blog, saying it was such a great and moving time, and he wonders what he'll do tomorrow now that there's no babylon anymore. From 2ch comments seems like fans also had a really great time. I think I'm going to watch one of their DVDs today.
